World Relief participates in a cooperative agreement with the United States Department of State to sponsor newly arrived refugees through the Reception and Placement (R&P) Program. R&P provides initial services for their first 30-90 days in the country. The program is designed to help refugees achieve self-sufficiency and integration into American society. Click to learn more.

The major function of the Preventative Health Program is education, which is provided by the Health Navigator. Upon arrival many of the refugees do not have knowledge of the American healthcare system, and struggle to receive the care that they need. This program works to eliminate this barrier forour clients by providing them with the info that they need to navigate the system on their own because, as with all of our programs, the goal is self-sufficiency.
It is rough to think about leaving our careers to become a dishwasher or a janitor, but everyday refugees face the harsh reality of this new life. To date, in the state of TN, there has been no effort to help this group of people with professional development and positive economic impact. The Journey Refugee Youth Services Program through World Relief Nashville desires to pinpoint and seek out refugee high school students who are considered at-risk academically. Through the use of after school programs, youth mentoring, and school partnerships; we plan to help students achieve their academic and life goals despite their former adversities and setbacks.
