The Intern Immersion Program at World Relief offers individuals a global missions opportunity without leaving the United States. A core component of the program is immersion into the refugee communities. This is an intense, eight-week immersion experience in which interns will live at the same apartment complex as many of the refugees in order to develop more meaningful relationships both during and after work hours. Immersion provides the ideal environment in which life-changing relationships can be formed. Throughout the internship, participants will learn the challenges and blessings of sharing the Christian faith cross-culturally and despite language barriers to those wishing to learn more. Ministry—sharing the love of Jesus in word and deed—is central to accomplishing World Relief’s mission to “empower the local Church to serve the most vulnerable” and will be incorporated throughout the internship’s three main components: resettlement work, community or development initiatives, and relationship-building.
